Katie Lea Chaffin

 

Katie Chaffin is the nineteen year old daughter of Michael and Cindy Chaffin of Ipava, Illinois. On September 5, 2009, at the Labor Day Pioneer City celebration in Palestine, Illinois, she became Illinois' designated Lady-in-Waiting. Starting her reign in January, as Miss Rodeo Illinois 2010, Katie is the 32nd young lady to hold the title of Miss Rodeo Illinois.

Katie is a graduate of VIT High School and is a student at Black Hawk College, where she majors in Equestrian Science and Horse Science and Technology. She is active on the Intercollegiate Horse Show Team and was a member of the 2009 Reserve World Champion Horse Judging Team. Her goals are to own and operate an human and animal chiropractic and massage therapy facility and would like to qualify to compete at the NFR in Barrel Racing.

Katie's interests include photography, dancing and singing. In her free time she enjoys training her two American Quarter horses in preparation for actively competing in the NBHA and BBR.

As Miss Rodeo Illinois, Katie will be traveling throughout the country attending PRCA rodeos to promote the great state of Illinois, the sport of professional rodeo and the western way of life. She is preparing to compete for the prestigious and coveted title of Miss Rodeo America 2011 at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the 52nd Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in December.
